The Third of June 1651

doctor Clerk one
of the Judges

The personall Answers of William
Moore made to the pretensed positions
of a pretensed Allegation given against
him and others on the behalfe of
Robert Lewellin and others doe follow

To the first and second hee answereth that
hee referreth himselfe to the charter party
arlate which hee beleeveth to bee signed
and sealed by the said Garnett on the
behalfe of himselfe and him this
Rendent and the rest of the owners of the
said shipp And otherwise hee doeth not
beleeve the said positions to bee true in
any parte

To the third and fourth hee answereth and
beleeveth that the said shippe the Comfort
was att the time of her departure upon the
voyadge in controversy a very stronge
tight and sufficient shipp and did continue
or att least would have soe continued
all the voyadge with the ordinary care and
lookeing unto of the Carpenter and Com=
pany who were the servants of the
said Lewellin Baman and Mackrell
they being to victuall and man the said
shipp for the said voyadge. And otherwise
hee doeth not beleeve the said positions to
bee true in any parte Saveing that whilst
the said shipp was and remained att
Virginia shee was or might have bin
caulked and had such of her Seames
new stopped and trimmed as either
the workeing of the Sea or heat of the
Sunne might have caused to yeeld, as
