Transcription
To the third pretensed postiion hee answereth
and beleeveth that within the time arlate
the arlate William Adis deceased did att
Gravesend within or neere this port of
London lade or cause to bee laden on=
board the arlate shippe the Leopard
all and singular the goods wares and
merchandizes in this schedule arlate
mentioned to bee carried and transported
in the shippe the Leopard from this port
of London to the porte of Naples and
this rendent did receive the said shipp
and did signe or subscribe unto a
bill of ladeing for the carryeing and
trasporteing of the same in the said
shippe for the Account of the said Adys
from this port of London to the porte
of Naples and for deliverey of the same
unto this rendent or his Assignes and
this rendent att the time of the ladeing
of the said goods schedulate aboard the
arlate shippe the Leopard or imediatly
after did promise the said Adys that in case
hee this respondent could get a good
market or price for the goods schedulate
att Naples whilst hee this respondent
remained with the said shippe at that
porte (he ethis respondent being from
thence bound to severall other ports)
hee would sell and dispose of the said
goods schedulate (being herrings) for the
Account of the said Adys as hee did of his
owne herrings which hee likewise car=
ried in the said shippe the same voyadge
and give him a iust Account thereof
