  • Insert immediately after the sentence or phrase you wish to annotate the following macro:<ref>This is the footnote text</ref>
  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

To the 4th Article these rendents answer
and every of them answereth that
saveing theire precedent Answers they
nor any of them doe beleeve the
said pretensed position to bee true in any
parte thereof Saveing these respondents
beleeveth and every of them beleeveth
that 4 li per moneth for the space of 20
moneths amounteth to fower score
pounds as is arlate

To the 5th pretensed position these rendents
answer and beleeve that they have bin
desired by the said William Stephenson to
pay him wages for the voyadge arlate
for which these rendents beleeve hee did
deserve none And these respondents
beleeve that they have bin damnified
by the meanes and occasion of the said
Stephenson dureing the voyadge arlate
above 1500 li as they beleeve and therefore
and for other iust reasons as they
beleeve they refuse to pay the said
Stephenson the wages by him in this
cause controverted./

To the last they beleeve the thinges
by them beleeved ad deny the
thinges by them dennied./
