The personall Answers of Marke
Mortimer made to the pretensed positions
of a Libell given in on the behalfe of
Clement Starre as followeth videlicet
To the first hee answereth That hee doeth
not beleeve the same to bee true in any parte
To the second hee answereth That within
the yeare 1649 and monthes therein halfe
a Barrill of powder if it were good was
sold att the Barbadoes as this rendent was
informed and beleeveth for the quantity of
200 lb weight of Sugar and noe more and
Caske for 120 lb weight of Sugar per Tonne
and noe more and these were then there the
usuall prizes of these Commodities as this
REndent beleeveth And otherwise hee doeth not
beleeve the said pretensed position to bee true in
any parte
To the third hee answereth that hee doeth not
beleeve the same to bee true in any parte
To the fourth hee answereth That hee doeth
not beleeve the same to bee true
To the 5th 6th 7th and 8th hee answereth That
2 hogsheads and five chests of sugar were
within the time arlate laden aboard the
arlate shipp the Constant by the said ffran
cis fford or his order and consigned to him
this Rendent upon the Account of the said
fford and hee this Rendent hath receaved
the same and dispused the same accordingly
and if they had miscarryed or beene cast
away in the passage hee beleeveth the
said fford had borne the Adventure thereof
And otherwise hee doeth not beleeve the said
pretensed positions to bee true in any parte thereof
