by the Company of the Joselin in a
small boate belongeing to the Joselin
of which shippe called the Joselin
the said Captaine Clarke was then
(ut credit) Commander and shee be
leeveth that the said shipp the Joselin
was then in the service and pay of
the Parliament and set out as a man
of warre for seizeing of the shipps
and goods of the enemies of the Par
liament And otherwise shee doeth not
beleeve this pretensed position to bee
true in any parte
To the second pretensed position shee
answereth that at the time arlate
this Rendent came from Ireland in
the shippe the hare and at the time
of the surprizeinge of her did not
knowe that [?Beaumorris] or Chester
were in opposition to the Parliament
this Rendent haveing not bin in En=
gland seaven yeares before that time
but since the surprizeing of the said
shipp the hare this Rendent hath
heard and beleeveth that att the time
of the surprizeing of the said shippe
the hare Chester arlate was in
opposition to the Parliament And
otherwise shee doeth not beleeve this
pretensed position to bee true in
any parte/
