Abstract & context
Captain Peter Cooze wrote to Sir George Oxenden in a letter dated March 20th, 1662/63. He sent the letter from the Queens Stairs in Ratcliff, Surrey, which may have been his London home.
In this letter, he referred to a "Edw:d Tarver a Musitioner,"a friend of his from childhood. He has written the letter as a letter of introduction, which Tarver carried out with him to Surat. No other records of Tarver have been discovered.
Cooze refers to his previous letter of March 1662/63, in which he provided details of his troubles with the Livorno ffrigatt.
