1. ladeing which was and is signed by the arlate Michaell
2. Audric the then Commander of the said ship fore the said goods
3. ymediately after they were soe laden by the said producent
4. thereupon: the contents whereof hee saith were and are true
5. and were soe had and done as therein is conteyned All
6. which hee knoweth to bee true because this deponent sawe
7. the said producent buy all the said goods and pay for them and
8. then sawe him lade them abord the said ship the Saint Martin att
9. Smirna ˹for his owne accompt˺ and afterwards sawe the said Audric signe and
10. sett his hand and name to the said bill of loading as now
11. it doeth and may plainely appeare And further hee cannot
12. depose.
13. To the third article of the said Allegation and to the schedule
14. annexed hee saith and deposeth That after the said goods and
15. Merchandizes schedulated were soe loaden abord the said ship
16. the Saint Martin ˹at Smirna˺ shee sett saile and departed therewith for Ligorne
17. the said Cagia Petro then goeing allsoe with with his said goods in
18. the said ship and with him tooke the said bill of loading or
19. schedule annexed which hee had in his owne custody and
20. possession And saith as the said ship was in her said
21. Course for Leghorne off the Ile Corsica she was
22. Mett withall surprized and taken by a squadron of Eight ships
23. belonging to the Parliament of England under the Command
24. of the arlate Captaine Hall the said Cagia Petro with his said
25. goods being then abord the said ship and then haveing the said bill of
26. loading in his possession and Custody. All which hee knoweth
27. to bee true because hee this deponent did himselfe come from
28. Smirna together with the said producent ˹and his precontest Hojar Sefer˺ in the said ship and
29. was abord her when shee was seized and then sawe the said
30. goods abord and the said bill of loading in the possession of the
31. said producent. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
32. To the fourth article of the said Allegation hee saith and deposeth
33. That the said producent Hojár Petro is án Armenian and
34. a Subiect of the King of Persiá and a merchant who
35. doeth frequently and usually trade and traffique from Smirna
36. with severall parts and places of this deponents certaine knowledge
37. hee haveing within theise ˹7 or˺ 8 yeares often met him tradeing
38. in ˹such manner˺. And saith that there is a free trade and
39. Commerce betwixt and allsoe peace and Amity betwixt the
40. Commonwealth of England and Persia and the respective subiects of
41. each Countrye. And further hee cannot depose.
