further referring himselfet to the Law he saith he cannot depose.
To the 5th article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that there was<br />
great want of provisions on board the said dutch built shipp her Company<br />
being in great distresse and allmost starved, and albeit there were<br />
some goods taken out of the sayd Dutch=built shipp into the ''Martha''<br />
yet the same was done in exchange for provisions of victualls<br />
which the sayd Pibus did furnish the sayd dutch shipp with. And<br />
this deponent being then and there present did not see or heare<br />
that any goods were taken from the sayd vessell but by way of<br />
Exchange, and the Skipper of that vessell went away well<br />
satisfyed with the sayd exchange, and releife thereby afforded him<br />
for preservation of the lives of his Company being in great distres<br />
for want of provisions as aforesayd. And othewise hee cannot<br />
depose.
To the 6th article of the sayd allegation This deponent saith that the ''Marthas''<br />
anchor upon her outwards voyage being weighed not farr from<br />
Quinborough brought upp a small anchor of about four hundred<br />
weight and a rotten Junke which in all probability had layne there<br />
six or seven yeares, and the samw were taken into the ''Martha''<br />
and carryed to Greenland where the sayd Pibus lent the sayd<br />
