To the fifth and 6th articles hee saith, That shortly after the said new<br />
bolspritt was made and putt in the said Vessell the ''Margaret'' as<br />
aforesaid videlicet towards the Later end of the said moneth of November<br />

constrained to repaire the said boltspritt with feshes of wood and roapes<br />

saith That after the said shipp the ''Margaret'' by reason of the bruising and<br />
disabling of the said boltspritt the second time had with great difficultie and<br />
danger arrived at Virginia, the said foxe and Companie were constrained<br />
to take out the said boltspritt and to putt in a new one there; And this<br />
deponent further saith hee verily beleeveth, That by reason of the said<br />
falling fowle of the said shipp the ''May flower'' upon the said Vessell the<br />
''Margaret'', (as hee hath predeposed) the said Benjamin Crandley Arthur<br />
Baily and Companie, did lay out in necessary expenses for the said new<br />
boltspritt at the first time and repairing of it the second time, and putting in<br />
a new boltspritt at Virginia, the suummes of thirty pounds sterling or<br />
thereabouts in this deponents Judgment and estimation, this deponent, this deponent having heard the<br />
said Robert ffox sewerall times declare before their departure from England<br />
upon the said Voyage, that hee had sett downe in his booke of accompts two<br />
and twentie pounds and fifteen shillings sterling upon the said Owners<br />
