On the behalfe of the sayd
Dan: Bradley.

The 12th day of Aprill 1656.

Examined upon the sayd Interrogatories.

Rp. 3

Joseph Smith of Ipswich in the County of Suffolke mariner
Late one of the Company of the sayd shipp Christopher. aged
twenty yeares or thereabouts, sworne before the sayd worshippfull
John Godolphin Doctor of Lawes, and one of the Judges of the high Court of Admiralty, and examined saith and deposeth as
following. videlicet.

11. To the first Interrogatory This deponent saith he knew the shipp the Christopher
12. interrate att her last being att Saint Remo neere unto Genoa, bound for
13. London, and was one of the Mariners of her Company the sayd voyage.
14. And otherwise he cannot depose.

15. To the second Interrogatory This deponent saith that the sayd Daniel Bradley
16. the Master of the sayd shipp did lade on board the sayd shipp in the moneth
17. of December 1655 last past att Saint Remo aforesayd severall parcells
18. of wynes, lemmons and Oranges for his owne benefit and aććompt
19. this deponent being present att the lading thereof and seeing the same
20. brought on board. And otherwise he cannot depose.

21. To the third Interrogatory This deponent saith that the sayd shipp having taken
22. her lading att Saint Remo aforesayd departed from thence in the sayd moneth
23. of december last past upon her voyage for this port of London. And
24. in her Course upon the prosecution of such voyage she was mett with
25. and surprized with all her lading by an Enemy shipp being a
26. Man of warr formerly belonging to Brest. And the sayd
27. Daniel Bradleys goods aforesayd were on board her att the tyme
28. of her the sayd shipp Christopher being so surprized, and by
29. meanes thereof were and are become utterly lost to the sayd
30. Daniel. which hee knoweth for that he was on board the Christopher
31. att the tyme of the sayd surprizall, and sayled in her under the
32. Command of the Company of the sayd Man of Warr to a place
33. in Spayne within the Bay of Biscay called SheshXnX where
34. the sayd shipp Christopher and her lading were confiscat and
35. made prize of. And otherwise he saith he cannot depose.
