to the said ffrancis de la sierpe and Pedro Johnson the yonger
for lading the said silver and seeing and copying the said letters, and with
the producents remitting goods unto them for the buying and providing thereof
and seeing their letters of advise sent to the producent signifying
the buying, providing and lading the said silver in the said shipp for
his accompt, together with the bills of annexed inclosed therein, which
hee sawe come to the producents hands, and sawe the said producent
open the said letters and take the said bills of lading thereout, and
after the said producent had read them this deponent tooke and reas the
same. And saith hee is well acquainted with the hand writing of the
said John de Vosse having seene many other bills of his firming,
and verily beleiveth the said bills annexed to be firmed and signed by
him, and saith hee hath seene the duplicates or exemplars of the
said bills in the Registrie of this Court, as seized in the said shipp
and from the said shipp brought in thither, And hee verily beleeveth
the contents thereof to be true and soe had and done as therein
is contained, and not to be in any wise coloured or fictitious
And otherwise referreing himselfe to the said bills hee cannot depose.
To the fifth article hee saith and deposeth that in and for all the time
arlate the said ffrancisco de la Sierpe and Pedro Johnson the
younger have bub abd are the factors and agents of the said producent
at Cadiz and for such commonly accompted and reputed and that for
all the said time there hath bin and is correspondance and intercourse
of letters betweene them in the matter of commerce, and this hee
saith was and is true publique and notorious, which hee
knoweth for the reasons aforesaid and otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the 6 and 7 hee saith that in or about the moneth of January last
the said producent by his agents at Antwerp sent unto the said
ffrancis de la Sierpe in the shipp Saint Albertus of Ostend (Joachim
Cordes master) bound for Cadiz, laces to a good valew, and to the
said Peter Johnson the younger linnens to a good valew in the shipp
of hendrick Garfles of Ostend, which went thence for Cadiz about
a fortnight before the Saint Albertus, and both of them arived in safetie
at Cadiz (as the said factors advised) and delivered the said goods to
the said factors, to whom hee saith they were sent for the buying of the
said silver, and they bought and provided the same therwith, as
by their said advises. And hee knoweth of the providing and sending
the said goods, for that hee this deponent (the producent being
then here at London) managed that affaire of packing and
sending them away, and saith the said linnens, were bought by Mr
Boschaert himselfe before his comming for London, and the lace
this deponent intreated Mr Pinquet (a friend of the producent at
Antwerp) to buy for him the said producent, and all was for his
the said producents accompt, yeelding a reason of his knowledge as
aforesaid. And otherwise hee cannot depose, saving the producent [?alone]

the younger for theise seaven yeares last of this deponents knowledge
have lived and doe live in Cadiz in the dominion of the kinge
of Spaine, and for such commonly accompted and reputed, which hee
knoweth because hee this deponent for five yeares together ended
about two yeares since lived at Cales where hee was acquainted
with them, and for the said two yeares hath seene frequent letters
from them from Cadiz to the producent where this deponent liveth
with him And saith the said Pedro Johnson the yonger was and
