Transcription

To the third he saith that he knowste not John Baptista Stayne[?], saying
it is only a borrowed or feigned name as he hath deposed. And further
cannot depose.

To the fourth he saith that Lorenzo de Veles is by birth a Duinkerker and by
habitation of Cadizs in Spaine. And the sayd Hannekaort is an Inhabitant
of Antwerpe as this deponent hath hearde. And John Baptista Stayn[?] is a feigned
name as aforesayd. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the fifth he saith that the sayd Lorenzo laded the sayd money himselfe, and the
Captaine or master of the shipp Christian Cloppenburgh[?] received[?] the same
aboard in the daytyme[?]. And further he cannot depose.

To the sixth he saith that he saw the sayd Cloppenburgh[?] master of the Salvador
signe the bills of lading as he hath p:rdeposed about the begginning of October
aboard the sayd shipp. and othorwise he cannot depose.

To the Seventh he Saith he cannot depose.

To the eight he Saith that the sayd money now claymed was laden by Lorenzo
de valus himselfe, and the name of John Baptista Staine[?] was and is nonsonse[??]
in the Bill for a xxxx onely[?] and not otherwise. And furthur he cannot depose.

To the nynth he cannot depose of his knowledge, but beleiveth[?] that noe[?] such
bills or memorandums as are here[?] in this Interrogatory suggested[?] were signed
made or taken by the sayd Master Cloppenburgh[?] or his m[asarstor][?!] or any other
And further cannot depose.

To the tenth negatively.

To the eleventh he Saith that the sayd Lorenzo da velus when he laded the sayd
money both the Master of the sayd shipp that he laded the sayd moneyes upon
and for the xxx by accompts formerly deposed, and so much this xxxx
has heard the sayd Christian Cloppenburgh[?] acknowledge. And farther he
cannot depose.

To the tweltfth he Saith that the sayd Lorenzo davelus laded twenty of the said
baggs himselfe for his owne Accompt, and believed that he had authority
givon him by the sayd Pedro and Andrea Hannekaort to lade their money
for their owne Accompt And further he cannot depose.

To the thirteenth he Saith, that the Sayd Lorenzo da velus as he has p:rdeposedd
bought[?] the money now claymed[?] with plate and money of Mexico brought from the
Indies, and saith that att the buying thereof the sayd Lorenzo [declined?] that part
of the same with the quantity of eight hundred pieses of eight more for the
xxx of the sayd Pedro and Andrea Hannekaort. And futher he cannot
depose.

To the fourteenth he Saith that the sayd Lorenzo develus att the lading of the
sayd money told this deponent that he laded the same vizt. twenty baggs xxxx
for his owne Accompt and xxxx. and four baggs xxxx of all the xxxxx and
for the Accompt of the sayd Hannekaorts

To the fifteenth he saith that he this Rendent was borne att Valladolid in Spaine and hath his dwelling att
Peru in the west Indies and saith he is noe way [concerned?] in the money now claym[ed]
by way of property xxxxx or any other way. nor is he any way concerned in
the losse or restitution[?] thereof. And othorwise he cannot depose.

To the sixteenth seventeenth eighteenth and ninetenth Interrogatories he Saith
he cannot depose.

To the twentyeth negatively.

To the one and twentyeth he Saith that the Sayd Lorenzo de velus received from
the sayd maister of the Salvador Christian Cloppenburgh[?] severall bills of lading
of xxx xx xxx for the moneyes claymed aboared the sayd shipp, but the certaine number of the sayd bills
this Rendent remembers[?] not. And he saith that the sayd Lorenzo develus
to the sayd [Cloppenburgh] one of the sayd bills and further he cannot depose.
