18. shipps by order of state att such tyme as he went with the sayd X hoy
19. for Ipswich out of this River of Thames: and that he, (the sayd Order
20. notwithstanding) not having victuall sufficient to stay till the sayd Embargo
21. was ended, did in the night tyme gett out of this River with the sayd hoy and
22. goods in her. but there was not any shott att all made at or after him
23. from the Blockhowses so farr as hee heard. And hee was forced by
24. stresse of weather ˹upon the fflandran shoare˺ neere Graveling as aforesayd. And he ˹saith˺ beleiveth that
25. after the sayd vessell was bilged the souldiers and others from
26. Graveling (but without this Rendents consent and wholy against his will)
27. did by force seize upon the sayd goods and carryed them ashoare, into
28. some Church or other place, whither this Rendent was not permitted to
29. come ACUTE ACCENT OVER "c" or "o". And he this Rendent did not sell the sayd Complaines goods or any
30. of them to the Governal of Graveling, howbeit hee saith It is true,
31. that upon this Rendents addresse to him for releife and succour QUESTION: IS IT CORRECT TO HAVE A DOUBLE ACUTE OVER "c" AND EXPANSION WITH A "u"? hee did
32. give him this Rendent fourteene pounds sterl. which this Rendent
33. did receyve and hath since payd the same to the sayd Complaine.
34. And otherwise he cannot answer.
35. To the 9th Interrogatory he saith the sayd hoy when she came last from Ipswich
36. had a Mariner and three boys in her, and him this Rendent. And that
37. the sayd mariner was not turned out of her by this Rendent, but was
38. impressed for the service of the Commonwealth And att that tyme
39. By reason of the presse this Rendent could nott gett another
40. Mariner in his stead but was forced, to returne for Ipswich with
41. the sayd buyers. And otherwise he cannot answer.
