Evidence from High Court of Admiralty

Thirty-two year old ffrances Cannter deposed on May 24th 1656 in the High Court of Admiralty.[1] He was examined on a libel in the case of "Phillipp Ewers Master of the ship called the William of London against William Watts and against all others etcetera".[2]

ffrances Cannter stated that he went gunner of the William on the voyage to Virginia in November 1654 in question and on a former voyage to Virginia, immediately before the disputed voyage.[3]
