Biographical synthesis
Robert Demetrius (b. ca. 1631; d. ?). Merchant.
Resident in the parish of Saint Andrew Undershaft in 1654.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Twenty-three year old Robert Demetrius deposed on March 15th 1654 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on behalf of the claimers in the case of "The clayme of Cornelis and Henry Hillywervin merchants of Antwerp for their moneyes in the shipp the Sampson whereof Otto George was master taken by some of the Parliaments fleet".[1]
