Overview

This alphabet lists all names contained in the body of the letters in Sir George Oxenden's letter books, 1663-1669, now held at the British Library.^[1]

A separate Alphabet of names lists the names of the letter writers only, whose names appear in the above letter books

Editorial conventions

Editorial annotations are contained in square brackets:

e.g. first names, or surnames, not given in letters
