And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the fourth article of the said allegation of 17 articles hee saith and deposeth<br />
that in and for all the time arlate the usuall freight of goods by<br />
the tonne from Cyprus to London, was for grosse goods as Cotton woolls<br />
at and after the rate of 6 ''li'' per tonne, of Galls 4 ''li'' per tonne<br />
and of peace goods and smaller commodities at and after the rate<br />
of seaven pounds per tonne, and this hee saith is publique and<br />
notorious, which hee knoweth because this deponent both received and<br />
paid freight according to those rates for such goods comming from those<br />
parts within the said time. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
To the eighth hee saith that hee hath heard merchants who have<br />
received goods from Porto fferara or legorne within the time arlate<br />
say and affirme that the freight of such goods as are arlate was<br />
after the rates arlate for the transport of them thence to this port<br />
And otherwise hee cannot depose.
Upon the rest of the articles of this allegation hee is not examined<br />
by direction of the producent/

To the 6th article hee saith and deposeth that each kintall maketh<br />
an hundred Rotulo's, and every Rotolo is foure pounds and thirteene<br />
ounces Aver du pois English weight, soe that two<br />
hundred fiftie two kintalls and 26 Rotolos and 44 kintalls and eight<br />
Rotolos of Cotton wooll make in all 296 kintalls, and 34 Rotolos,<br />
which hee knoweth being a merchant dealing in such commodities, and<br />
well acquainted with the wights the thereof and of other things mentioned<br />
in this allegation, and with the computation by kintalls and Rotolo's<br />
having longe lived a merchant at Aleppo. And otherwise hee<br />
cannot depose.
To the 7th hee saith that 296 kintalls and 34 Rotolos of Cotton<br />
woolls, make English weight one hundred fourtie two thousand<br />
six hundred and thirteene pounds and a halfe, which hee knoweth<br />
for the reasons aforesaid. And otherwise hee cannot depose.
