IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN this fourteenth day of January Anno Dmi one thousand six hundred eighty four and in the six and thirtieth yeare of the raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God of England Scotland france and Ireland King defender of the faith x:r I Lawrence Moyer of Lowlayton als Lowleighton in the County of Essex Esq:r being at this present of perfect and sound memory (blessed be Almighty God) and considereing my age and that frailty and Mortality which attends all mankind in this transitory life doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament as followeth

first and principally I commit my soule into the protection of Almighty God hopeing by the alone merritts of my deare redeemer Jesus Christ to enjoy an Inheritance with the saints in glory and my body I committ to the earth to bee buried in such decent manner as to my Executrix hereafter menconned shall seeme fitting and Convenient the temporall estate which it hath pleased God to blesse mee with I doe dispose of the same in manner and forme following (that is to say)

IMPRIMIS I doe hereby ratify and ?consigne the severall deeds of settlemenen and conveyance by mee amde of my Messuages aLands and tenements in Lowlayton als Lowleighton aforesaid dated the nine and twentieth day of may Anno Dmn one thousand six hundred seventy three and all and singular the uses trusts and Lymittations therein specifyed as well to my deare and loveing

wife ffrancis as to the other persons therein menconned according to the tenor and purport thereof

ITEM as for touching and concernining all and singular my messuages or tenements scituate and being in Bucklersbury in the parish of S:t Stephen Walbrooke in London and my Ground rent there with theappurtenances holden by mee for a long terme of yeares yett to come by vertue of severall leases made by and from the Company for propagacon of the Gispell in new England and the parts adjacent in America and by severall XXXX Assignments and Conveyances come to mee I dispose of the same as followeth (vizt) I give and bequeath the same messuages and Groundrent to my daid deare and loveing wife ffrancis Moyer for and dureing soe long time of the termes of yeares of the said Leases which shall bee to come and unexpired ast the time of my decease as she the said ffrances shall happen to live and from and after the decease of my said wife to my loveing brother William Moyer for and dureing so long time of the termes of yeares of the said Leases which then shall bee to come and unexpired as the said William Moyer shall happen to live and from and after both the deceases of the said ffrances amy wife and William Moyer then I give all the said messuages or Tenements and graound rent unto James Moyer sonne of the said William for and dureing soe long time as then shall bee to come and unexpired of the said Leases as hee the said James shall happen to love and from and after the deceases of them the said ffrances William and James then I give the said messuages or tenements and groundrent and the said Leases thereof and ll the terme and termes of yeares which shall bee then to come and unexpired therein to the first sonne of the body of the said James lawfully to bee begotten and the heires of the body of such first sonne lawfully to be begotten and for want of such issue my will and mind is that the same same shall goe and be to the second third and every other sonne and sonnes of the body of the saidd James lawfully to bee begotten and the heries of the body and bodies of each such second third and other sonne and sonnes lawfully to bee begotten successively as they shall bee in seniority of Age or priority of birth the older of them and the heires of the body allwaies to be preferred before the younger and the heires of his body for want of such issue then to the Daughters of my said said brother William Moyer their Executors and administrators

ITEM I give and bequeath all those my Stables with the'appurtennces in the parish of S:t John Baptist London to my said wife ffrances for and dureing the tenure of her naturall life and after her decease to my said brother William Moyer for and dureing the rXXXX of his naturall life and after both their deceases to the said James Moyer for and dureing his naturall life and from and after all their deceases then I give the said Stables to the aforesaid Issue of the said James and their Issue severally and successively in like manner as the said Messuages in Bucklesbury are bequeathed and for want of such Issue to the daughters of my said brother William Moyer their Executors and Administrators

ITEM I give devise and bequeath all and singular my Coppyhold or Customary Lands and Hereditaments scituate lying and being in the parish of Lowlayton als Lowleighton aforesaid of what Mannor or Mannors soever the same or any parte thereif are holden unto my said wife ffrances Moyer for and dureing the terme of her naturall life and from and after her decease to my nephew Lawrence Moyer sonne of my brother Samuell Moyer deceased and to the heires males of the body of the said Lawrence lawfully begotten and to bee begotten and for want of such Issue to my brother William Moyer and the heires males of his body lawfully begotten and to bee begotten and for want of such issue then to my nephew Samuel Moyer sonne of my said brother Samuell and to the heires males of the body of the said Samuell my neohew lawfully begotten and to bee begotten and for want of such issue to the right heires of mee the said Lawrence Moyer for ever all which

Copyhold or customary Lands I have surrendered to the use of my will

ITEM whereas I have a Certaine Coppyhold tenement and twelve Acres of Land Customary in the Hamlett of Milton in the Parish of Prittlewell in the County of Essex which I have not surrendered to the use of my will but take the Custome of the mannor of Prittlewell of which the same tenement and Lands are holden to bee that my wife is intituled to a moyetie thereof dureing her life and my mind being that she nevertheless shall enjoy the whole thereof dureing her life now therefore my will and mind is that in case my next heire according to the Custome of the said mannor of prittlewell that shall enjoy or be intitled to the said Coppyhold tenement and Land shall not upon my said wifes request make and confirme to her a good and legall estate of and in the whole thereof for and dureing her naturall life then and in such case I give to my said wife the sume of fifty pounds out of what shall or may be comeing to such heire by this my will over and above the said Moyetie coming to her by the custome of the said mannor and I will that in such case she dafaulke and abate the same fifty pounds to her owne use accordingly anything in the my will conteyned to the contrary notwithstanding

ITEM I give and bequeath to the severall persons herein after named the several gifts and legacies herein after menconned in good and lawfull mony of England Vizt to my brother William Moyer the summe of fifteene hundred pounds and to my sister Hannah his wife the summe of fifty pounds and to his three Children James Hannah and Elizabeth two hundred pounds a peece to bee paid to their said ffather for their use and his receipt to bee a sufficient discharge to my Executrix for the same

ITEM I give to my loveing kinsman the said Samuell Moyer sonne of my said brother Samuell Moyer deced the summe of one thousand poundes to the four children of the said Samuell Moyer my Nephew Vizt Roberta, Mary, Elizabeth and Lawrence, two hundred pounds a peece to bee padi to their said ffather for their use and his receipt to bee a sufficient discharge to my executrix for the same

ITEM I give and bequeath to the three Children of my Nephew Lawrence Moyer Vizt Martha Lidya and Benjamin two hundred pounds a peece alsoe to bee paid to their said ffather for theire use and his receipt for the same to bee a sufficient discharge to my Executrix

ITEM I give to my neece Lydia ?Ruffin one hundred pounds all which Legacies or Summe of mony before herein bequeathed I will to bee paid within one yeare next after my decease

ITEM I give and bequeath to the five children of the said Lidya fifty pounds a peece to bee paid them respectively at the respective ages of one and twenty years of the sonnes and age of one and twenty yeares or dayes of marriage of the daughters which shall first and next happen and I wil that Interest shall be allowed by me Executrix for the same after the rate of five pounds per Cent p Annum in the meanetime to bee paid halfe yearly to their Mother for their maintenance and preferment and her receipt for the same Interest from time to time shall bee a good and sufficient discharge to my Executrix and in case any of the said five children shalll depart
