I hope & pray y:t this will find you in good health & safe at Surratt, & y:t the Comp:a affaires there by yo:r prud:t managemen:t are in á farr better posture, than they have beene, these late yeares for [XXX]only when Rebellion is at home, Discord & Sedition is sowne á broad, But God bee thanked wee are heere quiett under a gratious King; & I doo not question but o:r Nation there, hath y:e same blessing under a prudent Governor, Since yo:r Departure England; wee have heard of noo more Errors in yo:r Acco:ts Neither hath Ald:r Love soomuch as spoken unto mee one word, about it ever since & I must ??Inioniously ay y:e fault upon M:r Wheatly yo:r Accomp:t rather than upon Ald:r Love, for one neglected his Duty & y:e other was glad of an opptnity to finde an exception, but for á larger Acco:t of this busienesse I shall referr you unto yo:r Relations, whom I understand hath obtained á Judgm:t á gainst y:e Comittee of y:e [BLANK SPACE NOT FILLED BY SCRIBE] for yo:r demands upon them I have made bould upon yo:r free Expressions to mee, at yo:r being heere, to send unto you for my acco:t fifty peeces of yellow Cloath in y:e Custody of Cap:t ffisher Comand:r of y:e African of y:e same sort I do unto yo:r selfe; I hope y:e preed [?pXXXX] [Could it just be "pcell"? or more probably the "profits"] of y:e former will come home next July come 12/mo w:th the proffitt of a voyadge or two made in y:e country, as yo:r Wor:p then told mee you would for I shall not bee so Bold as to trouble you yearely w:th a greater Quantity, you are pleased to encouradge mee there unto, & y:t y:e p[XXX] yearely may bee sent mee home in sealing wax seed pearls or any other comodity w:ch yo:r Wor:p con [XX]ands will tourne best to Acco:t heere (not being of y:e Comp:a) for w:th forbidden fruits; I doe not desire to meddle w:th, thus begging yo:r excuse for this Trouble sending you X yo:r affaires unto y:d ?protection by y:e Almighty take leave to subscribe my selfe
