Being your Wor:p was pleased to pardon my presumption & mistake in my desire of yo:r Wor:ps subscription to my [XXXXX] lre from y:e rest of his relations & freinds heere of y:e Comp:a & Comittee & y:t you were pleased to offer of yo:r noblenesse to in[sert] some w:t in yo:r pticuler lres
In favour to my Sonne & gave mee order to give you á hint of w:t I did desire , I presume thus to declare y:e utmost of my ambition is, y:t In consideration Phil was first designed & appointed by y:e Comittee heere, to reside at Surratt & being sent at his first Arrivall to Rajapore hee behaved himselfe Comendabley in y:e Comp:a Service, & hath there sufferdd soo many months imprisonm:t & other losse of all hee had S:r Geo: & y:e Counclls at Sur:t would bee pleased to have y:t regard to him in his preferm:t as in theire Judgm:t may bee consistent w:th his abilities & merritt & y:e Comp:a Service or w:t part here of yo:r Wor:ps thinke fitt, and here in I had not presumed on yo:r Worp:ll & his other ffreinds but y:t it hath cost mee his portion, ins ettingh him forth & inconstant suplies His salary at first being but 10:ll o ann: & I have 5: I have 5 Children more to pvid for & haveing beene an Infortunate Merch:t & now á poore Goalor am not able to spare w:t at present hee wants, for his preservaall & advancem:t w:ch I humbly submitt to yo:r Worp:s Consideration, goodnesse; & Charity & subscribe & oblidge my selfe
