3. And further he cannot depose./
4. To the eleaventh he deposeth that one Berry a Pylott did
5. (by the order of the arlate Croford) conduct and carry the sayd
6. shipp from king roade to hung roade, but he saith he
7. cannot remember on what certaine day she arrived at
8. hung Roade And further he cannot depose.
9. To the twelth he deposeth that whilst the sayd shipp did
10. lye in hung Roade the arlate Mr Broadwick did come
11. from London as one of the Owners of the sayd shipp, and
12. that upon the sayd Brodwicks arrivall at hung roade, and
13. by his direction together with the consent of the arlate Croford
14. the goods were all taken out of the sayd shipp, and
15. that before the goods were taken out the sayd Brodwick
16. and Croford promised the sayd shipps Mariners (in
17. this deponents hearing) that the sayd shipp showld be
18. repayred, and the sayd goods showld then aboard be putt
19. aboard the sayd shipp; And that whilst the sayd shipp
20. was in repayring this deponent wanting hose and shoo's
21. and other necesssaryes went to Bristoll ˹to˺ the arlate
22. Croford the Master and desired some money of him, who
23. refused to give this deponent any money, saying
24. with a great oath that he would give x li to see the
25. shipp on fire, And that this deponent being in great
26. wants came therupon here to London, with a resolution of
27. returning unto the sayd shipp after his wants were supplyed
28. but he saith he was prevented by being prest in the XXXX service
29. of this Commonwealth And further cannot depose/
30. To the thirteenth he deposeth that in the sayd shipps homeward
31. voyage there was not any muting or shew, or any thing like a
32. mutiny in the sayd mariners of the sayd shipp against the
33. arlate Croford, and he deposeth that in the sayd voyage
34. the sayd mariners (all of them) did behave and carry themselves
35. obediently and with respect unto the orders and commands of
36. the sayd Croford, and did doe in all respects their severall
37. dutyes and labour in the sayd shipp/ And further he
38. cannot depose.
39. To the 14th and 15th articles he cannot depose.
40. To the 16th he saith that he the deponent hath belonged to the
41. Sea these nine or tenne yeares, and by what skill or experience
42. he hath gott in this time, he doth conceive that the arlate
43. Upson was not capable or sufficient for the place of a
44. Masters Mate of the sayd shipp, and that the deponent hath
45. heard that before the voyage arlate he the sayd Upson
46. was never at Sea to the Southward And further he
47. cannot depose
