The ˹seaven and twentieth seaventeenth˺ sixteenth of Aprill 1657.
On the behalfe of John Browning of}
London Merchant touching the losse of}
the shipp the Posthorse and her lading}

John Omer of Amsterdam Mariner, aged
thirtie yeares or thereabouts sworne before
the right worshipfull John Godolphin doctor of Lawes
one of the Judges of the high Court of the Admiraltie
XXX and exámined upon certaine Interrogatories
ministred on the behalfe of the said John Browning
saith and deposeth as followeth, videlicet.
14. To the first Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that hee well knew
15. and was master of the shipp the Posthorse interrogated.
16. To the second hee saith that the time Interrogated the said John Browning
17. as alsoe Albert Lemanerman, and Joost Glimmner and John Bolle, were owners
18. of the said shipp, and that the said Browning was owner of a third part
19. thereof, and for such commonly accounted, which hee knoweth being then Master
20. of her, And otherwise hee cannot depose.
21. To the third Interrogatorie hee saith and deposeth that in the or about
22. the moneth of November 1653 there were at the port of lynn in
23. England (wherethe said shipp then lay) laden and put aboard her for the
24. account of the said Browning and the rest of the said owners XXXXXXXXX
25. XX sixe and seaventy lasts of Coles=XXXXX, whereof one third part was
26. for the said John Brownings particular account, and the rest for the
27. rest of the said owners, each according to his part in the shipp; and that
28. the said twenty six lasts of ColesXXXX were soe laden to be carried and
29. transported in the said shipp to fflushing, and there to deliver the same
30. to ffrancis Olars for account of the said owners thereof, all which
31. hee knoweth being master of the said shipp and receiving the same
32. aboard, and signing bills of lading for the same And otherwise hee
33. cannot depose.
34. To the fourth and fifth Interrogatories hee cannot depose.
35. To the sixth hee saith that at the time of the said lading there were
36. Warrs betweene England and the United Netherland Provinces, and that
37. to avoid the seizure of the said ColesXXXX by man of warr, the bills
38. of lading for the said XXXX were made colourable, mentioning the lading
39. of the said ColesXXX for dunkirke, whereas in truth and realitie the
40. same was laden to have bin carried to and delivered at fflushing, and
41. that dunkirke was merely put in for a colour and to the end
42. aforesaid, and the said XXX was not to be delivered there but at fflushing,
43. And saith that the bill of lading nowe showed unto him, was one of
44. the three that hee signed (being all of the same tenor) for the said XXXX,
45. and that his name subscribed thereto, was soe by him subscribed with at
46. lynne aforesaid upon the said lading of the said goods.
47. To the seaventh hee cannot depose.
48. To the eighth hee saith that in or about the moneth of december
49. 1653 the said shipp departed from lynn with the said Cole XXXX aboard
50. her and prosecuted her intended voyage for fflushing her port of discharge
