* Ninian Williamson was the brother of Thomas Fairholm, merchant in Edinburgh. Williamson was based in London in 1665. Williamson had great trade in wine with Peter Pallat, factor in Bourdeaux.ne with Peter Pallat, factor in Bourdeaux. +

in question make a relation to the effect of the rest of the article and seriously<br />
averre such their relation to be true./
To the 4th article of the sayd allegation hee saith that as hee hath<br />
bin credibly given to understand by severall Merchants who have<br />
used to send horses to the Barbados, and by others who have lived<br />
in the Barbados and bought horses there the usuall price of horses there<br />
is three thousand five hundred pounds weight at the least of sugar<br />
for a horse, and often tymes more, which sugar<br />
hee saith will (as hee beleeveth) yeild in England or holland forty<br />
shillings sterling a hundred at the least and sometymes more<br />
And hee further saith that (as by letters of advice sent by the sayd<br />
davidson hee is given to understand) the sayd Shipp the ''Mary''<br />
formerly called the ''Lambe'' is a shipp of the burthen of<br />
fower hundred tonnes and upwards and had when shee proceeded<br />
upon the sayd voyage to the Barbados, eighteene gunns whereof two<br />
were brasse wherefore hee beleeveth that in case shee had not<br />
bin seized shee would have yeilded heere in England or in holland<br />
after shee had performed he sayd voyage a very considerable<br />
summe of money but what to estimate the same at in regard hee<br />
is not experienced in the value of such things hee knoweth not<br />
And further to this article hee cannot depose./
To the 5th hee saith, hee knoweth that the sayd Ninian Williamson<br />
is a Merchant and Inhabitant of the Citty of London and soe hath bin<br />
for these eight or tenn yeares last past hee haveing knowne him<br />
for a longer tyme by reason hee often frequented this deponents fathers<br />
howse in London And saith hee is Commonly reputed to bee a Native<br />
of Edenburrough in Scotland and a subiect of this Commonwealth<br />
And further hee cannot depose./
To the last hee saith his foregoeing deposition is true/
To the Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first Interrogatorie hee saith the party who bought the sayd shipp and alsoe tooke possession of her next after her sale<br />
and gave possession of her to the foresayd Jeggles was<br />
(as by his letters of Correspondence hee is given to understand) the<br />
foresayd William davison, who is as hee hath credibly heard and beleeveth<br />
a Scotchman by Nation and a subiect of this Commonwealth And<br />
further to this Interrogatorie saving his foregoeing deposition hee cannot<br />
answere otherwise than negatively./

To the 3 Interrogatorie hee saith as hee hath hear the ''Mary'' sett sayle on her<br />
voyage for Barbados in the moneth of december 1657, and saith shee never<br />
