Examined upon the Libell given in on the behalfe of the<br />

County of Middlesex Chirugion aged twenty three yeares<br />
or thereabouts a wittnes sworne and examined saith and<br />
deposeth as followeth videlicet/.
To the first article of the sayd Libell hee saith that in the moneths<br />
and tyme arlate the arlate Batson Beane and Golderne were<br />
commonly reputed the lawfull Owners freighters and imployers of<br />
the ''Greyhound'' arlate and the freighters and imployers of the ''Owners''<br />
''Adventure'' arlate for the voyage in question which was a certaine fishing<br />
voyage to bee made from this Port of London to Greeneland and saith<br />
hee this deponent went Chirugion of the ''Owners Adventure'' the<br />
sayd voyage and was shippd for Chirugion of her by the arlate Thomas<br />
damerell who was and went Master of the sayd Shipp ''Owners''<br />
''Adventure'' for the sayd voyage and had the Command not only of her<br />
and her Company but alsoe the Command ordering and direction<br />
of the ''Greyhound'' aforesaid and her Company (a small Pinke which was to bee assistant to the<br />
''Owners Adventure'' in the sayd voyage) And further to this article<br />
hee cannot depose/
To the second and third hee saith hee this deponent goeing Chirugion as<br />
aforesayd the voyage in question thereby knoweth that the arlate<br />
Maundrye and Gosling did both of them serve in the sayd shipp<br />
''Owners Adventure'' as Masters Mates of the sayd voyage and<br />
the arlate humfreys as one of her Company and a harpoonere<br />
and that after their the said Maundrie Gosling and humdreys being hired<br />
to goe the sayd voyage the sayd shipp ''Owners Adventure'' togeather with<br />
the Pinke ''Greyhound'' being well fitted and provided with all necessaries<br />
for the sayd voyage the sayd damerell and his sayd Mates and the sayd shipps<br />
Companyes sett sayle with the sayd vessells from Gravesend about the<br />
twelveth of Aprill one thousand sixe hundred fifty sixe bound for Greene=<br />
land and the sayd shipps were both committed to the care of the sayd<br />
damerell and their Companyes were to be ordered by him And<br />
hee saith the sayd shipps or vessells under the Conduct of the sayd<br />
damerell safely arrived in Company togeather neere the Coast<br />
of Greeneland and further saving his foregoeing and subsequent deposition hee<br />
cannot to these articles depose./
To the 4th and 5th articles of the sayd Libell hee saith that<br />
after the Comming of the two vessells aforesayd neere the Coast<br />
of Greeneland they in company of other English shipps put into the<br />
Ice towards shoare some<br />
