in London Wine-Cooper aged 46 yeares or thereabouts<br />
sworne and examined saith as followeth videlicet:/
To the 11. 12. and 13.th hee saith, That hee this examinate being a Wine<br />
Cooper by profession was employed by the producent Captaine Isaac<br />
Philips upon the arrivall of the shipp the ''Saint Paul'' allate at this Port<br />
of London, for the takeing out and disposing of her Lading of wines into<br />
Cellars and warehouses, and saith that at the time of the arrivall of<br />
the said shipp and goods, this deponent by order of the said producent sold<br />
some of the said wines for twenty pounds a tunn, And saith that<br />
shortly after the said shipp and goods arrivall, and that the said goods were<br />
disposed of into warehouses, the Commissioners for Prize goods or some<br />
by their order caused Lockes to be putt upon the said Cellars or Warehouses<br />
which continued upon their doores for about 6. weekes before they<br />
were taken of and the said producent permitted to dispose of his said<br />
goods, And saith That in that time of the said goods detention<br />
by the said Commissioners they were so much perished and deteriorated<br />
by meanes of such their detention. and the heat of the weather, That<br />
they were not worth nor could be sold or disposed of for more then<br />
4. or 5. ''li'' a tunne or thereabouts, though the Excise was then paid<br />
for the same, besides other expences and charges. The premisses this deponent saith<br />
hee well knoweth to bee true, for that hee was as aforesaid<br />
particularly employed together with his precontest John Goodman<br />
by the said producent in and about the ordering and disposing of<br />
the said goods, both at their first arrivall, and after they were<br />
discharged from the said detention:- And further cannot depose
