breth that in or about the yeare 1642 videlicet about a dozen yeares since the vessell
the ''Blessing'' was new built from the stocks neere Redderith arlate and this
deponent hath heard the arlate Andrew Wise saye and confesse that shee was soe built
by his order and appointment And saith hee knoweth the sayd Wise did goe Commander
of her the first voyage shee made after her being builded And alsoe saith
that hee verily beleeveth the arlate Edward Tayler did agree with the sayd Andrew wise for
an eighth part of the sayd shipp soe soone as shee was soe built for that hee hath
heard the sayd wise confesse and acknowledge that the sayd Edward Taylor was
owner of an eighth part of the sayd vessell, as alsoe for that hee this deponent
was present at the launching of the sayd vessell in the yeare 1642 arlate (the certaine
moneth hee remembreth not) and did see Elizabeth the wife of the sayd Edward Tayler
in the behalfe of her sayd husband pay unto the sayd Andrew wyse thirty pounds
sterling in parte of payment for an eighth part of the sayd vessell, and alsoe
hath since seene a bill of sale made from the sayd wise to the sayd Tayler for the
sayd eighth part of the sayd vessell but hee this deponent was not present when the
sayd bill of sale was signed and sealed, And hee alsoe saith hee hath three or
fower severall tymes within these 12 yeares last past seene the sayd Andrew wise
part of the sayd vessell, for his the sayd Taylers eighth part of the freight and
profitts ariseing by the voyages by him the sayd wise made with the sayd vessell
the ''Blessing'' as Master of her, And further hee cannot depose saving hee
saith after the sayd Wise had continued Master of the sayd vessell the ''Blessing''
for divers yeares hee sold (as this deponent hath heard) his interest therein to the arlate
George Blake who became Master of her after the sayd wise and is now accompted
Cittizen and Cloathworker of London aged 26 yeares or thereabouts
a witnes sworne and examined saith and deposeth as followeth videlicet./
To the first and second articles hee saith and deposeth that hee this deponent
went to sea in the vessell the ''Blessing'' arlate the first voyage shee made after
her being built from the stocks, and saith shee was built from the stocks neere Rederith
arlate by the order and appointment of the Arlate Andrew Wise, who did over see and looke
to the building of her, and went commander of her the first voyage shee made, (this deponent
as aforesayd being one of her company) And hee saith that hee hath seene a bill of sale
made from the sayd Wise to the sayd Tayler for an eighth part of the sayd vessell the
''Blessing'', but was not present at the bargaine made betweene them for the same or sealing
or signeing of the sayd bill of sale, yet verily beleeveth the sayd Tayler had
soe soone as the sayd vessellw as built and before shee went any voyage to sea
an eighth part in her for that hee well knoweth the sayd Wise did upon his returne
the voyage aforesayd wherein this deponent was one of the Company of the sayd vessell
makempany of the sayd vessell
