seized as this deponent beleiveth came int … seized as this deponent beleiveth came into the possession of the parties that<br />
seized the sayd shipps, and by them since[?] that tyme brought into the River of<br />
Thames. And further he cannot depose.
To the eighth he saith that the arlate ffrancis du Bois is by common reputation<br />
a ffleming by birth, and hath for theis three yeares now past that this deponent<br />
hath knowne him lived and kept his family att Cadiz in Spaine. And he saith<br />
that he is a subiect of the King of Spaine and comonly accounted -<br />
reputed and taken. And otherwise he cannot depose.
To the Crosse Interrogatories [CENTRE HEADING]
To the first he saith that he this Rendent was a passenger aboard the<br />
shipp ''Sampson'' and came first aboard as a passenger upon or about the<br />
fifteenth day of October last past. and was aboard the sayd shipp at the<br />
tyme of the sayd seizure.
To the second he saith that the arlate ffrancis du Boys hath his howse and family<br />
over against the Shambles neere unto the new street in Cadiz. And otherwise<br />
saving his foregoing depositions he cannot depose.
To the third he refereth himselfe to his foregoeing depositions and otherwise<br />
he cannot depose.
To the fourth he saith that the said moneys laden aboard the Sampson of which he<br />
hath predeposed was laden the day tyme, and the master and purser of the<br />
sayd shipp were then aboard and receyved the same as this deponent beleiveth.<br />
And further he cannot depose.
To the fifth he cannot depose.
To the sixth negatively and further he cannot depose.
To the seventh he saith that he this deponent before the tyme of seizure of<br />
the sayd shipp saw and read the entry of certayne moneys in the shipp<br />
booke of the Sampson for the Accompt of the sayd producent, but the [particulars?]<br />
he remembreth not. nor when the sayd entry was made. And further he cannot depose.
To the eighth he saith that before the tyme of the aforesayd seizure he this<br />
Rendent saw aboard the sayd shipp the ''Sampson'' a bill of lading for the moneys<br />
of the said producent and beleiveth that the sayd bill agreeth[?] with the<br />
aforesayd booke mentoned in the depositon to the next producent interrio[?]. And<br />
further he cannot depose, saving he saith the sayd ffrancis du Boys himselfe<br />
laded the money predeposed of aboard the ''Sampson''.
To the ninth he saith he cannot depose.
To the tenth he saith he does not know that the says moneys now claymed doth belong to<br />
any subjects of the states interrate[?] or ffrench King nor that the proceed thereof was<br />
to have beene sent into Holland or any Port of the united netherlands or of ffraunce<br />
for the Accompt of any subiects of the sayd states or sayd King. but beleiveth that the<br />
sayd money belongeth really to the said producent and that the shipps Interrate would<br />
have made their [right?] and full discharge att Oostend, and not elswhere and otherwise<br />
negatively and further he cannot depose.
To the eleventh he saith that the said ffrancis da Boys laded the sayd money himselfe<br />
and otherwise negatively and further he cannot depose.
To the twelfth he saith that the producent did acquaint this deponent att Cadize that<br />
he would lade and also that he had laden the sayd moneys for his owne accompt and<br />
adventure. And further he cannot depose.
To the thirteenth he saith that he this deponent was borne att Bridges in fflaunders<br />
and liveth in Sivilia Spayne. And saith he hath noe interest in the sayd moneyes nor will<br />
the restitution[?] thereof be any benefitt to this Rendent. And otherwise he cannot<br />
depose.
To the fourteenth fifteenth sixteenth and seventeenth Interrogatories he saith<br />
he cannot depose.
To the eighteenth negatively and otherwise he cannot depose.
To the nineteenth and twentyeth he cannot depose.
To the one and twentyeth negatively and further he cannot depose.
