testis in hac parte productus iuratus et examinatus
Ad 3um arlum allegationis ex parte dre Societatis in hac causa dat et admisse
dicit et deponit That after the takinge of the arlate shipp the Goulden
Wolfe by Captayne Herman and Captayne Wilde and their companyes
the sayd Henleyes company forced him this deponent to goe aboard the
man of warr and in a hostile manner one of the sayd Hermans
company helde a muskett towards him and threatned to shoote at
him if he would not goe abord the sayd man of warr, and
whilst he was abord the sayd Hermans shipp he sawe one of the
quarter masters of the sayd Hermans shipp beinge abord with him
from the Goulden Wolfe [?with] a crosse staffe of ebony which belonged
to him this deponent and which hee kepte in his chest under locke and key
but that stafef was restored to him agayne the same daye, alsoe
he sawe the sayd Captayne Harmans Trumpeter bringe
abord the sayd Harmans shipp a Sea card and compasse, which
were never restored to him agayne, alsoe there was in this deponents
cheste at the tyme of the takeinge of the sayd shipp, two suits
of lynnen cloath, and one cloath suite, foure shirts, two
pillows two payres of stockings and two payre of shoos
one payre of newe slippers twentye guilders in mooney and one sea
booke which cost him ten guilders, one testament a psalme booke,
a iournall nooke, and two paper books alsoe this deponent had in the sayd
shipp a horse mans coate which was not in his chest, eleaven hides, twenty
dozen of knives, three dozen of Combes a [?XXXXX] one pillowe, a wooll bedd
a Coverlett one payre of boots, eighte powder hornes, seaven
lynt stocks, two stowinge stocks, two compasses two copper [?moules]
and two woollen capps, all which goods togeither with his chest are detayned
from him but what wsa taken away from any other of the company of
the sayd shipp he knoweth not, neither did he see any of the Goulden
Wolfes company beaten or abused by any of the sayd Captaynes company
for that he was caryed abord the sayd Captayne Hermans shipp
presently after the takinge of the Goulden Wolfe. Et alr nescit deponere
