  • Replace 'This is the footnote text' with the footnote you wish to add, using the format: first name, surname, title, (place of publication, date of publication), page or folio number
  • Save the page

these rendents And otherwise these
respondents nor any of them doe
beeeve the said pretensed position to bee
true in any parte thereof./

To the 23th pretensed position these rendents
answer that they accept the Contents of
this position as farr forth as it mak=
keth for them and beleeve that the arlate
shippe the Jonathan and Abigall was
the time arlate soe ill reported of for
being the time arlate soe leaky and
insufficient a shipp att the Barbadoes
that divers men would not adventure to send
home any goods in her And otherwise
they doe not nor any of them doeth
beleeve the said pretensed position to bee
true in any parte thereof

To the 24th 25th and 26th pretensed positions
these respondents answer that they accept
the Contents of these positions soe
farre forth as they make for them and
beleeveth that these rendents have
receaved great damadge and losse by
certaine passingers which came abord
the arlate shipp the Jonathan and
Abigall the voyadge arlate against the
good will and likemig (sic) of these respon
dents factors att the Barbadoes for
the recovery of which damadge these
respondents have commenced a suite
against one Colonell draix for the said
damadge and there are severall sutes
commenced against these respondents
by one Bardwell and others for the
pretended losse and damadges of
sugars brought home in the arlate
