1. went thereupon to the masters mate and desired him to make fast the said

4. To the seavanth hee saith that while hee soe watched and was aboard
5. hee heard some of the shipps company bragg and say that they had sold a
6. greate deale of wine out of the said shipp in the west countrey. And
7. otherwise hee cannot depose.
8. To the 8 and 9 hee saith hee cannot depose.
9. To the tenth hee saith that ˹wines of the˺ fellowes of the said wines pipes whereout
10. the wines were soe embeazeld, were sold for thirtie pounds per pipe
11. and with another or therabouts, and therefore the ˹said eight pipes˺ would have yeelded
12. after that rate and the halfe pipe proportionably. And otherwise hee cannot

34. To the second and third árticles of the said allegation hee saith and
35. the deposeth that hee heard there were eight pipes of the wines laden
36. aboard the shipp Samuell arlate drawne out and end for end and wantting
37. and otherwise hee cannot depose, saving they were said to be mr Bakers
38. pipes.

40. To the fifth and sixth articles of the said allegation hee saith that after
41. the arivall of the said shipp in the River of Thames from the voyage
42. in question hee this exáminate being imployed to watch wines that
43. came home in her went aboard and watched, and during such his
44. watching, hee saith his precontest henry Carter (who alsoe watched there)
45. called him in the night time into the Cooke roome of the said shipp
46. whether this deponent comming, hee showed this deponent a rundlet
47. of wine of about eight gallons all slabbrd and not and
48. lying by a false scuttle that went out of the said Cooke-roome
49. into the hold, which scuttle was likewise wet, and told this deponent
50. that hee had catched the Gunner, the Cooke and the Cookes boy
51. of the said shipp handing and endeavouring to convey the same away
