signes made unto them, not beare up but hold on their course with the shipp
Samuell by which mianes they (unlesse some tymely course were taken to
prevent the same the shipp Samuell would undoubtedly come fowle of
Providence) this deponent and Company of the Providence to prevent as much
as in them lay any mischcife which might ensue upon the Samuells holding
on her course and not bearing up as desyred) did put the providence on the

her a shoare soe as to save their lives though they could not preserve
sayd shipp Providence and her ladeing All which had bwith easi bin present
and the Providence and her ladeing had not perished if the sayd Lee and
Company of the Samuell had borne up with their sayd shipp or brought
her on the stayes as were by this deponent and company desired
and advised to doo, and might very easily have done if they had pleased
soe that the sayd lesse and dammage came of this deponents knowledge
