1. and then the Master and Purser agreeing to pay them
2. one Moneths pay at five shillings a doller they accepted
3. thereof and came aboard againe, and saith there was ˹a˺ writing or
4. noate ˹made˺ conteyning the names only of all such as consented to
5. deserte the sayd shipp for want of pay but whether the sayd Nocks
6. name were therein hee knoweth not, but is well assured that
7. neither the sayd Nock nor any of the parties plaint in this suite saw
8. Richard Brooke was any of the sayd defectors, but continued
9. aboard, And hee further saith that about January 1655 the sayd
10. shipp being ready to sett sayle from Ligorne arlate the sayd Nock
11. and one Morecock the Carpenters Mate ˹and some other˺ were ashoare there after the sayd
12. shipp was under sayle, and saith the sayd shipp did staye and turne
13. up and downe expecting the sayd Nock XXXXXXXX ˹and˺ others and the shipps
14. boate being in the meane tyme sent to fetech water the sayd Nock
15. and those with him towards Evening came aboard in the ayd boate with the
16. sayd water, And further to this arle hee cannot depose/
17. To the 12th hee saith the arlate John Godden was three or fower
18. tymes ashoare at Zant and further to this article hee cannot
19. depose saving his foregoeing deposition./
20. To the 13th hee saith that the arlate denby and Brooke were sometyme
21. on shoare, and the sayd Brooke the oftener of the two, but how many dayes
22. or nights either of them were on shoare hee remembreth not, but saith
23. the sayd Brooke ˹the Cooper˺ having bin a shoare at Zant was sick for on and
24. in the tyme of his being sick the Water Caske of the sayd shipp neaded
25. mending and the sayd Brooke not being able to mend it by reason of his
26. sicknesse, the purser hyred an other man in his stead to doe it, the sayd
27. Brooke consenting and being willing to make allowance out of his wages
28. for the same, And further saving his foregoeing deposicon hee cannot
29. depose./
30. To the 14th hee saith that some of the sayd shipps Company videlict
31. XXX John Goaring John Jackson Henry ffoote Richard Gallhampton
32. and some others (whereof the Plaintiffs in this suite were ˹none˺ XXXXX) were
33. refractory and disobedient to the Commands of their superiors and
34. saith that onse some of the sayd shipps Company for that the purser
35. would allowe them but a pinte of oyle a weeke to a messe did
36. refuse to pumpe unlesse they might have a larger allowance of
37. oyle, and hung their oyle bottles upon thee pumpe, and the master XX
38. and Purser consenting to allowe them a pinte and a halfe of oyle to a
39. messe they thereupon fell to pumpeing againe And further to
40. this article hee cannot depose/

42. To the 16th hee saith that in the moneth of March the sayd
43. Shipp the George Bonadventure having lost her Rudder at Sea ˹was forced to˺ put
44. into Plymouth to bee fitted with a new Rudder and while shee laye there
