1. after such his Comming aboard the sayd shipp at Gravesend did well
2. observe (and indeede it was a thing apparent unknown to all the sayd shipps
3. Company and the passengers and could not but be taken notice of by them)
4. that the sayd Waring was a very wilfull and perverse man
5. matters of pilotting the sayd shipp betwixt Gravesend and the downes
6. and would harken to noe bodies advice and was much given to
7. curse and swear And this deponent saith that the sea running somwhat
8. high so that the shipp did not foole her behine presently according

29. Company diswaded him and this deponent told him that there ˹was˺ too
30. much winde stirring and too much sayle up all ready, yet hee the
31. sayd Waring in a wilfull and crosse manner commanded and
32. caused the sayd shipps Company to sett up the mayne sayle, and
33. would not come to an anchor as he was desyred to do, by which
34. his obstinancie and willfullnes the winds blowing strongly the
35. sayd shipp was ˹soon after˺ seuerall tymes violently struck upon the sands
36. there, and thereby lost her rudder and was otherwise very much
37. hurt and 38. and the winds continued high, then and not before caused the sayd
39. shipps company to bring her to an Anchor among the sands, he
40. not being able then to governe her for want of the Rudder, and
41. after shee had so rode at Anchor a while the Master and Company
