Biographical synthesis
Maurice ffoard (b. ca. 1617; d. ?). Brewer.
Hired as a "Copper man" by Captaine Thomas Damerell to go on a voyage on the whaling ship the Owners Adventure in May 1656 to Spizbergen ("Greeneland") - "to goe a Copper man for boyling of the whales taken the sayd voyage".[1]
Resident in 1657 in Shadwell.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Forty year old Maurice ffoard deposed on January 14th 1657 in the High Court of Admiralty. He was examined on a libel in the case of "He was examined in the case of "Batson against Goslin and others".[2]
