Barbados to Guinney and back to Barbados
John ffishbell was the Master of the Justice of Dover. He deposed in a Memoriam touching the seizure of the shipp the Justice of Dover and goods in the same that John Nayler John horne and Company had hired and taken to freight the ship the Justice of Dover in Barbados. The contract was for seven months, and was for a return voyage from Barbados to Guinney to purchase slaves.
- "50. To the 2 article hee saith that in the moneth of October 1655 the arlate John Nayler John
51. horne and Company did at the Barbados (the sayd shipp being then there) hyre and take the
52. same to freight ˹for seaven moneths˺ for a voyage to bee made from thense to Guinney and back to the
53. Barbadoes and did at the Barbadoes lade the sayd shipp with Copper barrs and"

"1. severall other goods and Merchandizes for Accompt of them the sayd Nayler

3. Edward and John, which servants were never taken charge of by any of the
4. shipps company that this deponent ever heard of, they being persons that
5. had bin released out of Bridewell, and noe order given to restraine them
6. of their liberty in the shipp that ever this deponent heard of, And hee
7. saith the Captaine being absent when they escaped was made acquainted
8. therewith when hee came on board, and the shipps company
9. telling him that they doubted least hee should make them pay for the
10. sayd servants escape, the sayd Captaine Tolty openly before his
11. Mates Hugger and Turpin and this deponent and divers others
12. of the shipps company and some of their wives then alsoe on board,
13. did promise that the shipps company should not bee troubled or
14. questioned touching their escape, for hee would satisfie their
15. Master with other passengers in the shipp who had noe Master,
16. and spake to this deponent and desyred him to lett ˹him˺ have one of his
17. this deponents servants then on board to helpe to make up
18. their number, And further to this article hee cannot depose/"

- "3. Isaac Jacquett of Wapping in the County of Midds Mariner
4. Late one of the Company of the sayd shipp the Anne, aged
5. 34 yeares or thereabouts a witnesse sworne ánd examined
6. saith as followeth.
7. To the first second ánd third arles of the sayd Libell This deponent saith that in
8. ffebruary ˹last˺ was twelve month the sayd John Carey sayled in the sayd shipp Anne
9. as master of her from this port on a voyage for Guinny whither hee
10. therewith safely att Guinny and about or not long before Midsummer
11. last did there sell to the sayd Gilbert Christopher master of the
12. Peter and James for a good quantity of the sayd Copper barrs of good value
13. which he this deponent being one of the Company of the Anne
14. in the delivery thereof. And hee did heare at Guinny the tyme
15. aforesayd that the sayd Gilbert gave the sayd John Carey a Bill for the
16. paying for the sayd Copper barrs, ánd did see then and there a certayne
17. writing in the hands of the sayd Carey which the sayd was the sayd
18. Gilbert Christophers bill for the paying for the sayd barrs. And further
19. not knowing the value of the sayd Copper barrs nor what they were
20. so sold for nor being positively able to sweare that the Bill
21. now sworne him was or is the originall true bill aforesayd, he
22. cannot depose."
