that he did then understand that the sayd Ffrancis DuBoys intended [to]
lade the sayd baggs of money aboard some of the shipps then lyeing in th[e]
Bay of Cadize bound for Fflanders, And accordingly afterwards in the[e]
latter end of sayd moneth of September this deponent being aboard th[e]
arlate shipp the Sampson then [riding?] att an [Anikur neer onto??] Cadiz[e]
Saw the sayd Francis du Boys bring and lade aboard the sayd shipp
Sampson some baggs of sylver but how many this deponent saith [he]
cannot certainly depose, and saith that he then laded the same for [his?]
owne proper Accompt and Risce[?]. And he further saith that some days
after this deponent being in discourse with the sayd producent in C[adize?]
he then told this Examinant that he had likewise laden for his owne [accompt]
aboard the Salvador (wherein he intended himselfe to salye and th[?]
so offered) the remaynder of the said baggs of sylver or peices of eight
this deponent hath formerly seen in his howse and were not laden aboard
the Sampson att the tyme that this deponent was aboard the Sampson as af[oresaid?]

And further he saith that the sayd baggs laden aboard the Sampson w[ere]
to be transferred fro[m] Cadize to Oostend there be delivered for the use and
Accompt of the producent to him the sayd producent or his A[rligando??], this dep[onent]
being [plsal? - abbreviation] when the same were laden for the that purpose. And the sayd produc[ent]
allso told this deponent that the moneyes laden aboard the Salvador wer[e]
to be transported to Ostend and theere o be delivered to to himselfe for his o[wn]
Accompt and in case of his a[xxxx?] to this A[xxxxx]. And he saith that he
the says Frrancis du Boye att and in the month of September last past
was and is as this deponent believeth the true and lawfull owner an[d]
proprietor of the sayd moneys above by him this deponent deposed of
being the proceed of severall [diverse??] [lades??] and other merchandises
of Fflanders which he [conveyed??] from his Correspondents there for
his owne Accompt. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the second he saith he cannot depose.
To the third he saith he cannot depose.
To the fourth he saith he cannot depose.

To the fifth he saith that he this deponent hath knowne one Jacq[ues]
Hoyes of Oostend (whom this deponent believeth is the party interr[xxx]) for
theis six years now past or thereabouts
to be a ffactore att Ostend for merchants of Spaine by the correspondence with the deponents
and saith that the tyme of the
lading of the sayd sylver or pieces of eight as aforesayd and
before and [since?] th[xxxx] was and att p[resent?] is correspondenry[?] betweene the
producent and the sayd Jacques Hoyes. and the sayd Jacques Hoyes
hath done business as a ffactore for the producent.
And further he
cannot depose.

To the sixth he saith that the aforesayd money by him this deponent predeposed
of were and are proper goods of him the sayd producent as he hath
predeposed and doe not belong to any subjects of the United Provinces
or King of Ffrance interrate[?], or the subject of any Prince or state
in hostility with the Commonwealth of England. And further he cannot
depose.

To the seventh he saith that he this deponent romeing[?] the Sampson as a
passenger from Caddize doth thereby know that the sayd shipps the
Sampson and Salvador in their [direct?] Course for Ostend with their
severall and respective lading aboard them were seized and surpris[ed?]
by some of the shipps of the Comonwealth by meanes whereof the sayd
moneys laden aboard the Sampson as aforesaid being then aboard the sayd
shipp, and the moneys laden by the sayd Ffrancis du Boys as he told the
deponent aboard the Salvador, and being aboard at the sayd tyme of
seizure
