1. To the 6th hee soe farr as to these words (then aske the sayd Netherall, eXlasciXly
2. hee is not boung to answere for that XXXX Interrogating of him upon
3. all the matters soe farr conteyned in the sayd Interrogatorie is excepted
4. and appointed for him not be examined thereupon And to the rest of the
5. Interrogatorie hee answereth negatively
6. To the 7th Interrogatorie hee saith hee knoweth that the Interrogate Whitfeild
7. in the tyme of the voyage in question did stopp some leakes in the
8. shipp Negro And to the rest of the Interrogatorie hee cannot
9. answere saving his foregoeing deposition XXXXX then negatively
10. and saving hee saith that when the arlate Lockeene was sayling to
11. St Christophers the Interrogate Whitfeild did tell him that hee mistooke
12. his way to the Barbadoes And to the rest of the Interrogatorie
13. hee answereth negatively no beleeving the same to be true for the
14. reasons in this foregoeing deposition declared
15. To the 8th hee saith that hee expecteth his full wages for the voyage
16. in question, and saith hee had which is forty shillings a moneth
17. for so long a tyme as hee was in her, and saith hee had a noate
18. under the hands of Mr Alexander Howe and Mr Robert Rich the
19. Merchants and Owners of the sayd shipp the Negro sent him to dunkirke
20. about January last was there yeares wherein they did promise to
21. pay this deponent forty shillings a moneth in full of his wages
22. for so long tyme as hee this deponent should continue in the
23. sayd voyage And to the rest of the Interrogatorie hee answereth
24. negatively by virtue of his oath taken in this cause

30. voyage in question and therefore cannot answere to this

32. To the second Interrogatorie hee saith hee knoweth (for that hee tooke a
33. memorandum in his booke of the tyme thereof) that the sayd Interrogatorie
34. Carter was shipped on board the Negro the twentieth of June last 1656
35. in New England and continued ˹and second˺ aboard her untill the tyme of her
36. arrivall there at London in the moneth of January last And
37. to the rest of the Interrogatorie hee cannot answere knowing
38. nothing of the contents thereof.
