1. shee was about sixteene monethes since ˹seized and by some of the shipps of the Commonwealth and carried to Portsmouth and after GUTTER˺ brought up into the River of Thames
2. by some of the shipps of this Commonwealth, and that after XX such
3. her seizure and bringing up, shee was in this high Court of the
4. Admiraltie of England claimed by Nicholas Clement and Adrian
5. van Balstrode and company (owners of her) all subjects of the Lords
6. the States of the United Netherlands, to whom (upon proofe made
7. of their proprietie) shee was restored by sentense or decree of
8. the said Court, and was delivered to the said John kein her master
9. to their use, all which hee knoweth for that hee upon the letters
10. of the said van B Adrian van Balstrode his correspondent, and
11. by vertue of a proclamation from all the said owners, prosecuted this GUTTER
12. claime in this Court for the said shipp tackle and furniture, and
13. obtained the said restitution.
14. To the second and third Interrogatories hee saith that after the said release and
15. restitution of the said shipp from the said seizure, and alsoe of
16. part of her lading to subiects of the said States of the United
17. Netherlands, the said shipp was bound for Spaine Cadiz in Spaine
18. and the said John kein her master firmed new bills of lading for
19. carrying the said goods soe restored to Cadiz, at ˹to˺ which plase the said
20. master undertooke to carry them and deliver them there of this
21. deponents knowledge, and before his proceeding home, the said
22. John kein often said and declared to this deponent and in his hearing
23. that if hee could meete with a freight that might be advantageXXX GUTTER
24. and profitable for his owners either at Cadiz, Malaga or other
25. port of Spains for England, hee would accept thereof; But well
26. knowing that by the nowe lawes of this Commonwealth hee
27. could not not bring commodities of the growth of Spaine into
28. England in his said shipp being a dutch shipp without danger of
29. confisation of shipp and lading, hee the said John kein often GUTTER
30. said and affirmed that hee would before his going from England
31. make a colourable bill of sale of his said shipp, tackle
32. apparell and furniture to some English man and Marchant, subject GUTTER
33. of this Commonwealth to avoide the said danger./
34. To the fourth ˹and fifth and sixth and seventh˺ Interrogatories hee saith that the said Nicholas
35. Clement and Adrian Van Bulstrode and company aforesaid owners
36. of the said shipp, understanding the said designed of her said master
37. sent this deponent and his partner John Buck a pXXXXXXXX GUTTER
38. enabling them to make sale of the said shipp to some Englishman GUTTER

45. refusall they certified the said owners. desiring to be expressly
