Biographical synthesis
Thomas Chantrall (alt. Chauntrell) (b. ca. 1632; d.? ?). Cooper. Cooper's mate of the Ownes Adventure.
Resident in the parish of Saint Botolph Algate in 1657.
Evidence from High Court of Admiralty
Twenty-five year old Thomas Chantrall deposed on January 7th 1657 in the High Court of Admiralty.[1] He was examined on a libel in the case of "Richard Batson against Gosling".
Chantrall gave his occupation as cooper and stated that he went as cooper's mate on a whaling voyage in the Owners Adventure to Spitzbergen.
