Transcription

To the fifth, sixth seventh eighth and nynth Interrogatories he cannot
depose.

To the tenth he saith that hee is fully satisfied and convinced in his conscience
that the sayd barrs of sylver were laden to and for the onely use and
Accompt of the producent, and to him doe really and truly belong and to noe
other party whatsoever. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the eleventh he saith that the produrent bought the sayd sylver, and when he laded the same, told this deponent that he laded the same to and for
his owne proper Accompt, and upon his owne adventure. And further he
cannot depose.

To the twelfth he saith that he is an Inhabitant of Valladolid as aforesayd and
was borne there. And saith that he hath noe interest in the sayd sylver now
claymed eyther by way of property or ensurance, neither shall this Rendent
be damnifyed by the confiscation nor receive benefitt by the restitution of it
And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the thirteenth, fourteenth fifteenth sixteenth seventeenth eighteenth nineteenth
twentyeth and one and twentyeth Interrogatories he cannot depose.

To the two and twentyeth he saith that the sylver predeposed was brought from
Havana in the West Indies in the shipp the St Juan Baptista whereof Juan
Serich was Master or Commaunder. And further to this Interrogatory he cannot depose.

To the three and twentyeth he saith that he cannot call to mynd the particular
day of the weeke or month when the sayd sylver was laden, but saith it was
laden about ten or twelve dayes after the Arrivall of the Spanish ffleet
att Cadize as he hath predeposed. And otherwise to this Interrogatory he cannot
depose.

To the four and twentyeth he saith that the sayd Sylver and every part thereof was
Laden aboard the shipp Sampson the riding att an anchor in the baye of
Cadize under Commaund of the fforts of the sayd Towne. And otherwise he
saith he cannot depose saving that he knoweth nor hath [] that there
was anu pasport or Cocquett for the barrs of sylver aforesayd.

To the Interrogatoryes given in 26th of May 1653. [CENTRE HEADING]

To the first he saith that he this Rendent hath heard, and there is a
London fame and Report amongst Seamen Masters of Shipps and others
trading in the porth of Spaine, that it is prohibited to all persons, to lade
money, plate bullion or sylver att or in the [?ports] of Spayne to be
transported from there without license for such transportation. And otherwise he cannot depose.

To the second he saith that he hath heard and a Common report there is that
every person lading sylver plate bullion or money in the sayd ports
of Spaine to be transported from thence without licence as aforesayd
by vertue of the aforesayd prohibitionm in case the sayd money plate
bullion or sylver be apprehended, but not otherwis; is after conviction
of such offence in the Courts of Spayne, to be devested and deprived
of his propriety in and to the sayd money sylver plate or bullion. And
otherwise this Rendent saith he cannot depose.
