Thomas Tayler of Wapping in the Countye of Middlesex Shipwright
aged aout 38 yeares sworne before the worshipfull Thomas Eden doctor of
lawes Surrogate to the right worshipfull Sir Henry Marten knight Judge
of his Majestyes High Court of the Admiralty sayeth and deposeth uppon
his oath as followeth videlivet That he well knoweth the shipp called the
Thomas of London (whereof Orpheus Dunkyn was master nowe lyeinge in
the river of Thames at this deponents key, and that the hull of the sayd shipp is very
insufficient and leakye and will require to have more worke
bestowed uppon it to make her fitt to goe to sea, then it is
nowe worth, and is lesse worth to be sould in this deponents
iudgement by the somme of twentye pounds sterling than she was about
three monethes since by reason of her lyeinge in the river of Thames
and hat she doth dailye growe worse by her lyeinge still without imployment
and beleiveth that if shee should lye much longer without cost bestowed
uppon her in repayringe of her, she will not be able to [?XXX] come above water
by reason of her leakines and this he affirmeth uppon his oath to be true./
