It is among my many misfortunes one of y:e Cheife to have done a great & good service for unworthy & ungratefll persons, but to such are trewly worthy I never had opportunity to doe for y:m, as I desire, & y:s is my Case & greefe y:t I am not in capacity to serve yo:w; to whome I am soe extreamly obliged for yo:e Countenance & greate favo:e to my son, & as he saies yo:w are a father to him, soe I say yo:w are more to him there y:n I can be, & have done more for him y:n I am able; as yo:e meare goodnesse w:thout merrit hath prompted yo:w to doe soe much for him as he tells me in sending him abroad, in giveing him a trust w:ch is much for his Creadet & advantage, soe I doubt not but y:e same goodnesss will as he performes y:t trust, put him upon some beneficiall employm:t , for y:e Good of y:e Comp:a & his owne incouragem:t: if I were able in anything to serve yo:w here God knowes y:e willingness of my soule to doe it, but y:t his blessings may attend yo;e indeavours shall allwaies be y:e prayers of
