My Respects & humble service presented; & yo:r Good health, w:th prosperity is prayed for &r:a [?] SLr I hope my presumption in troubleing yo:r Worp:ll w:th a few Lines will not bee displeasing & may acquaint you of my safety thus farr, from Guiney at w:chplace y:e Agent & most part of ffactors dead; Our Hono:ble Comp:a sent mee thither to disolve their factoryes, & to take an Inventory of Gold, & remaines of goods; & to settle y:e manadgem:t in disposing thereof, upon Two of y:e ablest of theire ffactors; & to deliver y:e Caftes of Cormentine with Gunns Ur:a [OR “Vr:a?] & all theire other ffactoryes over into y;e possession of y:e Royall Comp:a w:ch on y:e 25:th March I effected; reserved onely warehouse roome in y:e castle for our Comp:a remaines & accomodation, of theire ffactors haveing liberty to putt off y:e remaines till y:e 25:th March (64:) & to allow them 10:p C:te on all w:t sold after 25:th March (1663) M:r Maddison in

Y:e American was dispatched from Cormanteene y:e 12:th ffebruary w:th 9996 [TBC]: ounces of Gould about 30000:ll Stock who I understand departed hence in Company w:th East India March:t about 20 dayes past bound for ffor ffort S:t: George y:e former to bee sent home thence, y:e Latt for South Seas Jambee Bantham Etc:a I departed Cormanteene y:e 4:th Aprill; w:th w:t Gould Could procure for Goods sould the tyme of my being there, & w:t in Cash at my arrivall being onely 2496: ounces bound for ffort S:t George & Bengall & arrived at assention y:e 24:th Aprill; Whence his Maj:ty Shipps Dunkerk, Leopard, & Mary Rose departed for England 4: dayes before; y:e Earles, Cap:ts & all in health, I found there y:e Rich:d & Martha, M:r Andrewes & the Cap:t & all in health, they departed y:e 25:th Ditto; y:e Good Hope, & Marygould Both from Bantam departed to geather from L:d Islands Assention on y:e 10:th Aprill. S:r had any Shipp arrived for yo:r port before my departure hence I had Consigned you 6: or 700 Stock in Gold & have requested you to have sent mee its produce in Dymonds, Beazar, Muske, or Ambergreece; y:e 19 January at my departure England a peace w:th Dutch & in Amitee & League w:th all Europe & Turks, for other occurances referr you to y:e Bearer & shall Conclude deseiring you Excuse the abruptness of these lines I do respectively [XXXXX] [XXXXX] & remaine.
