The many & great Civilityes wee have Jointly in care of our particuers rcvd from you heere, & being all of us Concerned in y:e occasion of this our address putt us upon y:t interest wee esteeme our selves to have in you; & y:t wee are as well persuaded will bee acceptable to you to improve yo:r selfe to us as wee should esteeme our selves a like happy towards you had wee but the opportunity; freinds May[Clearly “May” is written, but it would make more sense as “Nay”. The “M” of May has been written over something else in lighter pen, which could be a small “n”] intimate freinds would soone forgett that ever they had beene such especially at soo great a distance had they not such opportunityes to quicken & renew theire former past affections; wee question whither this may attaine to enjoye y:t desire and & happyness which wee putt to y:e center, if it it doo wee doubt not but y:e shipp Geo: & Martha, (y:e Bearer hereof) y:t esteeme our selves to have but a Bad but a bad [repeated in written version, sic] Bargaine off: in y:e in y:e [repeated in original written version, sic] Comp:as service will bee helped out by yo:r assistance in a
